5km SCADaddles for Research

This year we held five 5k SCADaddles for SCAD Research across Australia to raise awareness and much needed Research Funds for SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection). Our major fundraisers, these walks are organised by Aussie SCAD Survivors to change the outcome for SCAD sufferers.

SCAD Heart Attack Survivors were joined by family, friends, the community right across Australia as well as members of the Heart Foundation Womens’ team and The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.

This year’s SCADaddles for Research were held in sunshine on Sydney’s Bay Run (28th May), Brisbane Botanic Gardens (25th June), Melbourne (17th Sept), Lake Monger Perth (22nd Oct) & Cornelian Bay Hobart (5th Nov).

2016 5km SCADaddles for Research

In 2016 SCAD Survivors from Australia were proud to join the global network raising funds for the research of Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection, or SCAD.

On Sunday April 3rd 2016, Aussie survivors walked with more than 260 family members, friends & the community in Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania (Hobart) and Queensland (Noosa) in the first Annual Aussie ‘SCADaddle’ – a 5km walk/fun run which raised awareness for SCAD, generated media support and raised over $9,800 for the SCAD Research Program at the Mayo Clinic. In 2017 we will also be raising money for the newly established SCAD Research Program at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.
