How You Can Help

Want to help beat SCAD? Here are 10 Simple Ways YOU can help raise much needed research funds and spread the word about SCAD Heart Attacks:

  1. Get involved in one of our 5k SCADaddles for Research – we’re planning our events for 2018 where you can run or walk the 5kms! These are our major fundraisers so if you’d like to nominate a location, create a team or get involved, please email Ian and Sarah via
  2. Raise money for SCAD Research while you shop – just go to, nominate SCAD Research as your charity and shop at over 800 great retailers like Priceline; Asos;; Booktopia; Expedia; Bonds; Smiggle and many more. For no extra cost a percentage of your sale will go directly to SCAD Research!
  3. If you or someone you know is planning to get involved in the Colour Run, Sydney Running Festival, the Melbourne Marathon, Twilight Running Festival, you can now nominate SCAD Research Inc as your fundraising cause on gofundraise! It’s a great way to raise much needed funds for SCAD Research and create awareness of SCAD!
  4. Buy a SCAD drink bottle – for just $10 each +postage, these 650ml bottles are BPA free. They’ll keep you hydrated AND help spread awareness of SCAD Heart Attacks;
  5. We’re a registered Charity with Benevity so it’s even easier to donate to SCAD pre-tax through a payroll donation or workplace giving program;
  6. Contribute goodies or vouchers to our Online Auction – we’ll have some great items for auction in early 2018, all donations will be publicly recognized through our website and social media channels and all money raised will go to SCAD Research;
  7. Make a donation to SCAD Research – all donations are tax deductible in Australia and every dollar makes a difference;
  8. Tell your Cardiologist about SCAD Research – and ask them if they’ll put up one of our posters or spread the news to other patients who are SCAD survivors;
  9. Share your SCAD story – as a SCAD survivor, family member or friend – email us or post it on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram and make sure you tag us @SCADResearchAus so we can share it.
  10. GET INVOLVED!!! We’d love some help to improve our website, set up an online auction, apply for grants or speak at local events. If you can help in any way – big or small – in 2018, email or message us via social media to find out how you can get involved in this survivor led movement and help beat SCAD heart attacks!
